Help a Fellow Rider

On March 30th 2009 Young Riders coach, Park City local, and Cannondale pro rider Nick Van Dine took a nasty fall at Solitude Resort in Utah that landed him in the ICU. Nick severely injured the right side of his face, as well as sustaining trauma to his brain. Nick spent a little over 24 hours in the Neurological Critical Care unit at the University Of Utah Hospital.

Nick underwent reconstructive surgery on Thursday April 2nd, 2009 to repair the damage to the right side of his face. The surgery went well and doctors expect Nick to make a full recovery in time. Unfortunately Nick not only faces his physical recovery, he is also faced with mounting medical bills beyond his very limited insurance.

On Thursday April 23rd 2009 a Fundraiser will be held to help Nick with some of these financial hurdles he faces. The fundraiser will be held at The Sidecar (333 Main St, Park City, UT 84060, second floor of the Main St Mall across from Shabu). Doors will open at 7pm with live music from local band Leadfoot starting between 8pm and 9pm. The event will feature a silent auction sponsored by Cannondale Bikes for a new Cannondale Rize, as well as a chance drawing (Utah for raffle) with great prizes from White Pine Touring, Jan’s, Dharma Wheels Cyclery, Deer Valley Resort, Align Spa, Go-Ride.com, Brother's Bikes, Endurance Cycle Service, Troy Lee Designs, SCOTT Bikes, and many more. $10 at the door gets you two “chances” to win one of the many great prizes. All proceeds from the evening will go towards helping Nick with his medical costs.

Please come out and show your support for Nick. If you have questions, or would like to donate product or services to the raffle please contact Scott House (shouse@whitepinetouring.com, 435-649-8710, 435-655-5009). If you would like to make a donation to Nick and will not be able to attend the fundraiser White Pine Touring will be collecting donations (Physical: 1790 Bonanza Dr, Park City, UT 84060; Mailing: PO Box 280, Park City, UT 84060). Checks can be made payable to Nick Van Dine.
