F Is for Fontana

The Fontana NMBS downhill race came early this year, but it was no less dusty and painful than years past. A new version of the turny, slabby upper course led into the lung-frying wall section. And just to add to the pain, a gusty wind kicked up in time for Sunday's pro races.

Melissa Buhl's fitness showed as she slayed her competition in both the downhill and mountaincross events, and then went on to a competitive Pro Super D finish against many of the nation's best cross country riders.
