Holiday Shipping Calendar

Starting Sunday, December 7, all orders to the US, Canada, and Mexico that total $75 and more will receive free shipping through the end of the year. (Normally orders over $100 ship free!).

US and Canadian deliveries that ship via Basic Ground will be guaranteed by Christmas if the order is placed by Friday, December 12.

US deliveries that ship via Express will be guaranteed by Christmas if the order is placed by Monday, December 22 at 3:00pm MST.

All international deliveries (including Canada and Mexico) that ship via Priority or Express will be guaranteed by Christmas if the order is placed by Wednesday, December 17 at 3:00pm MST.

I just finished setting up international shipping options for Freeride Foundation! Since my brain is officially fried from this project, I'm reproducing our own press release below. Pass it on!

What Would JayBay Wear?

We learned a lot during our first summer of business. One of the things that we learned is that no two shorts fit the same. OK, maybe we already knew that, but what we didn't know was how differently each short would fit.

Since you usually can't try things on before you order them, and since we'll be bringing in even more brands and models of shorts and jerseys and gear next year, we decided to take our sizing charts to the next level. In addition to the vendor-supplied sizing charts that are attached to each item, we created a new feature titled What Would JayBay Wear?

I put it all on the line and divulged pretty much every measurement I could think of to help you pick out the proper size for each item on Freeride Foundation. You can compare the size I wear in an item with my measurements, the vendor's sizing chart, and your measurements. Hopefully, this process will let you snag the proper size on your first try. It'll also give you an idea about how large or small a particular product tends to fit. Just look for the What Would JayBay Wear? line in the descriptions to take your sizing comparisons up a notch.

Kona Gloves and Sports Bras Are in Stock!

We're happy to announce that we have another brand of women's mountain bike clothing on our roster. Freeride Foundation just brought in some sports bras and gloves from Kona.

The sports bras are designed for riding and they're super comfy. I'll work on getting some images of the backs of the bras posted soon. The straps are designed to be comfortable with a pack and/or armor. The XC gloves are lightweight pull-on gloves. The Supreme gloves are super durable and are ideal for downhill and freeride adventures, though they're great for colder-weather cross-country riding too.

We plan to bring in more items from Kona and several other brands throughout the next few months, so be sure to check the website regularly!

What Happened in Vegas

For just this once, what happened in Vegas should definitely not stay there. I saw some awesome goodies at Interbike that I'm really excited to bring onto Freeride Foundation in 2009. It seems like the industry is finally catching on to the fact that gravity girls are craving fun, fashionable riding clothes. And don't worry, nothing's been shrinked and pinked--we're talking purples, citrons, prints, and plaids.

It's also exciting to see that many companies are starting to cater specificially to freeride girls. Kona and Norco each have a women's-specific freeride bike in their 2009 line-up, proving that women freeriders are really starting to make an impact on the industry. 5.10 has a sick women's shoe coming out that'll definitely fit even the smallest freeride feet. It's all been a long time coming, but I'm definitely happy to be able to bring you the latest and greatest in clothing and gear next season. Stay tuned--some of it will arrive sooner than later!

Build Your Dream Store

Girls, I need your help. Interbike is coming up. It's the annual cycling tradeshow where retailers get to check out all of the rad new stuff for next season. And we get to claim our share of the goods while we're there, so you have the best selection of products available to you.

Last season, we missed out on Interbike because the Freeride Foundation concept hadn't been born yet. Though we've been able to bring in a lot of rad clothes, we missed out on a lot of sizes and colors that you'd probably be pretty stoked on.

What would you like to see on Freeride Foundation? We've seen requests for body armor, especially women's specific body armor, a higher quantity of smaller sizes in shorts (like small and extra small), and gloves. If you have suggestions, let's hear them! Let me know what sizes you're looking for, what colors you can never find, and what products you'd like to add to your one-stop shopping experience. This month, Mountain Bike Magazine gave us a whole column in their Fresh Tracks section. Yes, we're stoked. We're also stoked to see the Melissa Buhl interview on the same page. Go gravity girls!

New Sombrio Products in Stock

We've just added three new 2008 Sombrio pieces to the Freeride Foundation catalog. The Sombrio Drift shorts, La Nina knickers, and the Tyax hoodie are all super cute products that we're totally stoked on.
The Sombrio Drift shorts are pretty much the awesome-est downhill shorts I've ever worn. They directly match the Lofter Jersey, and they're so comfy that I'd wear them all day if I could. Seriously. Waterproof vent and pocket zippers, a unique waterproof zip and snap fly closure, and stretchy shell material are just the beginning of the incredible list of the Drift's features.
The Sombrio La Nina knickers are shorts that hit just below the knees. The La Nina fits a bit snugger than other Sombrio options, and they're sweet stretchy shorts for freeride fun and autumn riding. You can wear these with a chamois, but probably not with armor.
The Sombrio Tyax hoodie is an adorable and toasty top that delivers pre- and post-ride style and warmth.
